IMT Food Services Served Up New Eagle Farm Facility

International meat, poultry and seafood supply service IMT Food Services has secured a new meat production facility at Eagle Farm in Brisbane’s north to accommodate its growing business.

IMT has taken out a long term lease of the specially built facility at 128 Fison Avenue West, Eagle Farm, in a design and construct deal negotiated by Ray White Brisbane TradeCoast’s Jared Doyle and Jonathon Jones.

Jared Doyle said IMT had to relocate from their existing property at Lytton Road, Murarrie, as it was on Queensland government land earmarked for sale.

“They weren’t given an option to renew their lease so we were tasked with finding them something similar to their Murarrie facility,” he said.

“I believed the best option was to do a design and construct project through a developer and I arranged a meeting with IMT Director Darren Walsh and a private developer to discuss the process.

“The developer then sought out a suitable sized block of land to accommodate the required IMT facility, finding one at 128 Fison Ave West which coincidentally had an unused ex-meat production facilty on a 3,936 sqm site.

“The developer purchased the site in an off-market transaction and sought a suitable DA for the new facility for IMT, which had agreed to lease the property.”

Jonathon Jones said a purpose built 2500 sqm facility which included massive hydraulics requirements and met strict industry regulations due to the export nature of IMT’s business was constructed.

“IMT secured a long term lease and are now operating from the site following a grand opening on December 6,” he said.

“The prime location just minutes to the Brisbane airport precinct, the CBD and sea ports was a major attraction to IMT, which supplies supermarkets and online customers nationwide as well as hotels and restaurants both in Australia and overseas.”

IMT has taken out a 15 + 10 year lease at a net rental of approximately $325,000 per annum.
